Styled,Then Silent:Why I Don't Post Everyday

πŸ’Œ Before We Begin…

Let’s actually talk about this posting.

First and foremost, thank you to my first three subscribers — I see you, and I’m so grateful.

More inspiration is coming your way. 🌱

Now, to the Heart of Today’s Blog:

“Everything doesn’t have to be fast to be powerful.”

Let’s talk about something real.
Something behind the scenes.
Something many don’t always understand.

I don’t post every day. I can’t. I don’t force it. Because this is my real journey.

What I show here isn’t just content — it’s my actual hair, my actual head, my actual life.
I style, I show. I care for my locs. I live with them. I don’t just create with them.

And real care? It means not over-styling.

I Style Once, Then I Let It Be

Usually, I style once a month. Sometimes even less.
Because in between those moments, my locs need to rest.
To breathe. To grow. To live outside performance.

Yes — I might post a little more during freeform phases, because those are lighter, less manipulated, and allow for daily creativity.
But even then, I stay intentional. I never compromise growth just to have something to post.

This isn’t about flooding a feed. It’s about listening to my rhythm.

A Moment from a Style Day

I still remember the morning I did Fierce Knots and Lines.
It was one of those “let-me-look-structured” days. I had errands. I wanted to feel strong and neat — like I had my energy together.

I got a style that held me together for weeks — both practically and emotionally.
πŸ’« Have you checked it out? You can read the full post here .
It wasn’t just a look — it was a whole season.

Some Styles Are Closed Off — And That’s Okay

That style lasted nearly a month. I refreshed it a bit — sometimes at home, sometimes with help. But I let it live.

It was a closed-off style, meaning I didn’t feel the need to undo or switch it constantly.
And that’s a truth with many loc looks — some are meant to stay, and that’s okay.

But I’ve realized: even with closed styles, you can still play.
And moving forward, I plan to play with them — gently, creatively.

The challenge is, I’m in Africa. I’m in Kenya.
And sometimes, finding the decorative tools and accessories isn’t easy.

But we’ll get them. Slowly. Softly. With ease.
So don’t worry — relax.

Rhythm as a Lifestyle

This slower pace?
It protects me.

It gives me space to feel into my looks, into my routines, into myself.
I don’t style because I have to. I style because I feel ready. Because the rhythm calls for it.

Some mornings, I wake up and just don’t feel like doing anything with my hair.
Not because I’ve given up — but because I’m living. I’m present. I’m choosing softness over pressure.

Other days, I wake up full of ideas — excited, inspired, in love with my locs, ready to create and share.

And that’s how I know this is real.
It’s not forced. It’s not curated. It’s not for show.
It’s lived — then shared.

This Is My Life

To those walking this journey with me — my subscribers, and to those who will just join or subscribe to my Email Loc List here right now — I ask for patience.

Because this isn’t a hair page filled with daily uploads.
This is a life being lived.

And I want it to stay honest to that.

I’m not here to perform.
I’m here to become.
And what I post reflects that.
